tuscon founder and CEO Justin Robinson leads a multi-disciplinary enterprise that benefits from the diverse background, experience and training of its core team members. All tuscon employees share a common drive to develop new and innovative ways to support the growth of Australian businesses, with a particular interest in accessing the wealth of talent within the country’s universities.
tuscon also has a strong network of external advisors. This allows tuscon to be flexible, agile and responsive to the changing needs of its growing portfolio of business initiatives.
Justin Robinson - Founder and Chief Executive Officer
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University and is qualified as a Certified Practicing Accountant.In 2006, Justin completed an Executive Masters of Business Administration at QUT’s Brisbane Graduate School of Business. The experience drove him to establish tuscon in 2006 with a simple agenda: he wanted to find a way for growing businesses to access the incredible talent pool in Australia’s universities.
Naomi Todd – HR Manager
Naomi has worked in the human resources arena for about eight years including four years as a consultant for national recruitment firms. She has also worked in administration and management for private training firms and hospitality businesses.
Having been supported by the company through two pregnancies, Naomi is looking forward to seeing tuscon prosper in its next growth phase.
Ian McLean - General Manager
Ian is an experienced business professional with over 13 years experience within Australia and the United Kingdom, where he spent 6 ½ years working for Channel 4 Television, most recently managing their New Media department, incorporating their online and mobile business activities. Upon returning from the UK in mid 2008, Ian spent his time consulting with Hoodlum Interactive, a Brisbane based international award winning digital entertainment company before joining tuscon in early 2009.
Ian is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and holds both a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland. His experience of the digital marketplace, digital product development and overall business management align with his passion for business success and make him a valued member of the tuscon team.
Sasha Berga – Office Manager
Sasha joined tuscon in 2008, bringing with her 13 years experience in project support and executive administration. She has experience across the recruitment, professional services and government sectors and has earned a reputation for delivering consistently high quality executive support.
Sasha shares the tuscon passion for delivering outstanding results and is focused on supporting rapid business growth. Her depth of experience in recruitment means she is well-placed to support the development of tuscon’s innovative employment programs.
Matt Deeble – Non-executive Director
Matt is an experienced business executive and entrepreneur with a strong track record in leadership and innovation both within Australia and internationally. Although his background is in the law, Matt’s career has mainly centred on technology including seven years with myinternet (now Editure), a specialist internet software and services provider in the education market. As its Chief Executive Officer from 1998 to 2004, Matt transformed myinternet into a leading global internet education brand with more than 4,000 customers in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and South Africa.
Matt is a champion of new enterprises and is currently guiding the development of new businesses in the alternative energy and ICT sectors in addition to his role at tuscon. He is the Head of Business Development of Cool NRG – an innovative energy abatement provider and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Monash University.
Bruce Wallace - Director
Bruce is an experienced business enabler with strong commercial sensibilities honed over a 40-year working career. During this time, he has been involved with the start-up, acquisition and reinvention of many businesses including manufacturing firms, transport businesses, property developments and finance broking enterprises including the establishment of Centrepoint Finance in the early '80s (now known as Centrepoint Alliance). For the last 16 years he has managed a successful consultancy providing peer to peer business management advice primarily in the transport, property and finance sectors.
Of late, Bruce has focused his commercial prowess on the identification and promotion of value-driven business initiatives. This has included the provision of seed funding for several enterprises including Cromwell Ltd - an ASX-listed property securities fund manager which now has a market capitalisation in excess of AUD500 million. Bruce is passionate about commercialising innovation in the marketplace and supporting well-educated young entrepreneurs to capitalise on Australia's potential.
